FAQs
What is being proposed for 7th Brigade Park and why?
The draft concept plan proposes a new off road cycling skills track and informal sports area. These proposed upgrades are responding to the need for additional facilities to service the growing population in the suburbs around 7th Brigade Park. The off road cycling track will cater for a range of age groups and abilities, from younger children through to older, allowing them to have fun while practicing and improving their cycling skills. The informal sports area is in response to requests for spaces where the community can gather with friends to play different sports on an ad hoc basis. These new facilities will support our community, young and old, to enjoy the outdoors and be active and healthy.
How will accessibility be improved?
The concept includes upgraded pathways to improve connectivity between key areas of the park. Accessibility will be considered in the off road cycling track design to allow cyclists with different abilities to enjoy the facilities.

Why do we need informal sports facilities such as these when there are many sporting clubs in the area?
While some people enjoy being members of sporting clubs, Council is regularly contacted by residents who want to enjoy playing sport with friends without belonging to a club.
