Victoria Park Vision

View of Victoria Park with Brisbane city in background

Brisbane City Council is growing your Brisbane lifestyle by turning Victoria Park into a world-class and iconic destination, giving residents and visitors more to see and do in a clean and green Brisbane.

Creating Brisbane’s biggest new park in 50 years is another way we’re making Brisbane better. This means more opportunities to enjoy Brisbane’s beautiful climate and connect with family and friends in the places that make our city great.

The enhanced park will be more than double the size of the City Botanic Gardens, helping to make Brisbane an even better place to live and relax.

The existing golf course space is proposed to transition into a parkland that everyone can enjoy, while keeping the popular putt putt course, driving range and functions centre.

The community actively shared their ideas and aspirations about the Victoria Park Vision during the eight week Your Say phase from 4 August to 29 September 2019.

We have been overwhelmed with the response and expect to release the Draft Vision document in early 2020, for another round of community engagement before the Vision is finalised in 2020.

To spark interest and big ideas for what the new parkland could look like, Council asked some of Brisbane’s leading design professionals to develop independent creative ideas for Victoria Park.

These ideas are not necessarily what will be built or included in the draft Vision document but are intended to inspire and capture the attention and imagination of the public about different opportunities for the park in the future.
