Alderley Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan project
Community consultation
The draft Alderley Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan project is open for community consultation until 11.59pm, Sunday 16 August 2026.
Following a review of submissions, Council will write to everyone who has made a properly made submission on the proposed changes and will publish a copy of the consultation report online.
For more information, visit the project page.
Early community engagement to help inform a draft plan for consultation was open from 17 November - 14 December 2025. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback.
We are working with the community to shape the Alderley Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan. This plan will guide how we design buildings, create spaces, and support local jobs.
The precinct plan will have 4 main themes:
- Housing choice: We need more homes for every type of household, such as singles, couples, and families. We’ll enable this by reviewing zoning and housing options.
- Vibrant village: We want to create more to see and do. This includes improving public spaces and facilities while creating more opportunities for local shops, dining and businesses.
- Subtropical lifestyle: We can celebrate our outdoor lifestyle. Ensuring buildings and public spaces include shade and greenery can make the outdoors more comfortable.
- Connecting people and places: We can maximise our public and active transport networks, while making walking and cycling safer and more convenient.
Community engagement
In late 2025 we asked the community to tell us what they would like to see in this neighbourhood by:
- completing an online survey, and/or
- adding location-specific comments on a map.
Feedback on initial ideas helped prepare the Alderley Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan which is now open for community consultation until 11.59pm, Sunday 16 August 2026.
