Proposed concept design

The Ryans Road Nundah precinct proposed concept design includes:

  • transforming an underutilised road space at the corner of Ryans Road and Robinson Road into a green, public open space for community use and enjoyment
  • upgrading intersections of Ryans Road, Robinson Road and Thomas Street to improve safety for all road users (please note, the proposed road safety upgrades will impact on-street parking by introducing and/or extending 'no stopping'/parking zone line marking)
  • a new pedestrian crossing on Ryans Road to improve safety, walkability and connectivity within the neighbourhood precinct
  • improvements that are inclusive for all ages and abilities
  • upgrading sections of footpath to improve accessibility, walkability, and connectivity within the neighbourhood precinct
  • new garden beds, waterwise landscaping and street trees to improve comfort, visual and physical amenity
  • responding to issues of overland flow and flooding
  • the inclusion of new unique seating and standard Council street furniture, including a drinking fountain, bike rack and bins
  • investigating creative placemaking opportunities to celebrate local history, place identity and character.
