Community Workshop
A passionate group of local residents and business owners joined us at Blockhouse Coffee on Saturday 2 December 2023 for a fun and engaging workshop.
During the workshop, local knowledge and ideas were shared, and the group discussed the key opportunities and challenges for the site and the wider neighbourhood precinct.

Project launch – community engagement summary
Throughout the three-week engagement period, between 20 November and 10 December 2023, community feedback was gathered during in-person and online engagement activities. Some key findings are summarised below:
- A place to gather – a place to connect, meet and socialise, and the potential for integration of active uses and consideration to day/night-time use.
- Street greening – increase tree canopy cover and shade within the precinct.
- Road safety focus – investigate solutions to reduce traffic speed and increase pedestrian safety.
- Lighting – increase lighting or deliver creative lighting to improve pedestrian safety within and through the site.
- Place identity – the acknowledgement and celebration of culture and local history.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and feedback during the project’s launch – your feedback will assist Council in understanding what the community values in their neighbourhood and will inform the concept design to be released in mid-2024.
