The last concept plan for the park was completed in 2006 which led to an upgrade of facilities. To ensure that the park continues to meet the needs of residents, we are preparing an updated concept plan which sets the context for how upgrades will be shaped into the future.

A draft concept plan is the first version of a big picture, ideas plan developed to support community engagement and help the community provide feedback on proposed works or new features. The purpose of a draft concept plan is to provide a visual aid to communicate early ideas and what may be possible.

The draft concept plan for Carindale proposes features such as a new internal access road to connect to the existing car park, additional car parking, upgraded/expanded playground, a riding track, new pathways, additional picnic facilities and tree planting.

The existing internal access road is narrow and difficult for vehicles to use, especially in both directions. The entry driveway on Bedivere Street is also very close to the intersection of Cadogan Street. The ideal location for the new access road driveway is on Cadogan Street, approximately 40m east of the intersection with Kimbolton Place. The existing access road would be removed and returned to parkland.

There is no particular track type proposed at this stage. We are interested in your feedback as part of the draft concept plan engagement process.

Yes, Council is committed to delivering features of the concept plan, subject to available budget.

Nothing has been locked in as yet as Council first wants to hear from residents about their ideas and priorities. Exact features of the upgrade will be designed after community feedback has been received and considered.

We plan to commence the upgrade in mid 2026.

Yes, an upgrade to the playground would retain this existing theme.
