Brisbane City Council is creating more to see and do in a city that's clean and green by preparing a draft concept plan for an upgrade to the Dorrington Park 'Enchanted Forest' playground.
Delivering improvements to the playground is one of the ways Council is building an active and healthy city and responding to a growing and changing Brisbane.
Council is engaging with the community to inform the preparation of a concept plan for the playground upgrade.
We want to bring the magic back to the Enchanted Forest with new realms proposed to provide more opportunities for imaginative play.
The concept plan will be finalised in early 2026 and construction will be completed in late 2026.

Council invited the community to provide feedback on the draft concept plan for the playground upgrade by:
- completing the online survey and/or
- visiting an information kiosks:
- Dorrington Park, Ashgrove - Friday, 10 October, 3.15pm-5.15pm
- Dorrington Park, Ashgrove - Saturday, 18 October 9am-11am.

Dorrington Park, Enchanted Forest playground upgrade proposal
The Dorrington Park Playground has been a place of wonder for families for almost 20 years. Council is wanting to bring the magic back to the Enchanted Forest by refreshing the space.
We are proposing new ‘realms’ of play for this playground which will surround the Enchanted Forest playground, as shown in the draft concept plan.

Forest Troll's Bridge The Enchanted Forest Four realms are her waiting, with adventures for you. There are secrets to discover and marvels brand new! To cross the bridge, you'll pay the toll, but a watchful troll is in control. The forest is timeless, with deep magic all around. High up in the trees to way down underground. The Whispering Woods Mushroom Hollow The Wishing Garden Beneath giant trees where the tall branches weave, the forest is dancing with seeds and with leaves. From the earth they emerge, some short and some tall. Tiny creatures are hiding, but can you find them all? A meadow of wonder where bright flowers play, and fairies weave magic all night and all day.
