Updated October 2021
Consultation on the Ed Devenport project has now closed. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback.
Brisbane City Council is replacing the Ed Devenport Skate Park with a new skate park, to ensure the local community and skate park users can continue to enjoy this important facility. The new skate park will be located closer to the playground in Ed Devenport Park.
Draft concept plan
A draft concept plan has been developed which proposes a combination of street and transitional styles that cater to beginner and intermediate skaters. Proposed skateable elements include:
Quarter Pipe (1.2m high)
‘Slappy’ Manual Pad (0.2m high)
Bank Hip with Plaza Steps (1.1m high)
Flat Bank with Ledge (1.2m high)
Ledge with Kicker into Bank Ramp
Tight Pump Hump with Noping Edge
Grind Ledge (0.35m high)
‘Hubba’ and Down Rail (0.45m high)
Round Flat Bar (0.4m high)
Bank into Long Ledge
The draft concept plan also shows where the new basketball half court will be located near the skate park.

There are a number of site constraints at Ed Devenport Rotary Park that limit where the new skate park could be located, including a border with Queensland Rail land, a waterway corridor, a flood zone, the existing playground and nearby residences. The boundaries of the proposed new design have been carefully chosen to accommodate all site constraints, while still providing a fun, functional and accessible facility.
As part of the skate park relocation, Council will also be constructing a new basketball half-court north of the new skate park.
