Kedron Safer School Precinct

Brisbane City Council is taking action to create Safer School Precincts in our suburbs.

As part of this commitment, we launched our new Safer School Precincts program in Kedron.

Safer School Precincts pave the way for children and their families to move safely around their schools, whether you walk, drive or ride.

How we move around our suburbs affects how we live in them. By improving how we move, we’re improving how we live.

We want to make it easier to choose different ways of getting around our suburbs and encourage more people to travel safely and sustainably.

We will do this by delivering a range of coordinated infrastructure treatments that will make it safer and easier for you to move, however you choose to.

Have your say

In late 2024, we asked the community for feedback about their experiences travelling through the precinct. This included feedback on safety concerns, opportunities for improvement and challenges the community faced.

Community safety concerns focused on unsafe driver behaviour and speeding, high numbers of cars on the road, rat running and the need for more pedestrian crossings and footpaths. This feedback was used to prioritise design treatments, alongside insights from technical investigations and modelling conducted by our engineering and design teams. During the design phase we worked closely with Mount Alvernia College, Padua College and St Anthony's Primary School to revise and refine the draft plan and ensure it met community needs.


The precinct plan is now open for feedback. Please have your say by:

  • coming to an information session at any time from:
    • 2-4pm, Thursday 22 October, Dremorne Road, Kedron (near intersection of Goodall Street)
    • 8-10am, Sunday 25 October, Keith Payne Park, 28 Buddina Street, Stafford
    • 2-4pm, Tuesday 27 October, Turner Road, Kedron (near intersection of Jardine Street).

Feedback closes at 11.59pm, Sunday 1 November 2026.
