Stage 1: Community ideas and feedback
May 2021
On Saturday 15 May 2021, Brisbane City Council held an onsite community information kiosk to seek your feedback on the proposed Village Precinct Project at Martha Street, Camp Hill. More than 30 people, including business owners, visited the kiosk to speak to the project team about the upcoming project.
Online feedback activities, including a survey and ideas board, were also available from 10-30 May. More than 162 engaged community members contributed their ideas and feedback.
Local businesses and property owners were also consulted through a business information meeting held on 11 May 2021, with support from Council’s economic development section.
Your feedback
When the community was asked: ‘What do you think could be improved in the Martha Street centre precinct?’ your responses highlighted key areas for improvement including:
- traffic safety and pedestrian access
- landscaping, footpath upgrades and street furniture for streetscape amenity, and
- improved parking conditions throughout the centre.
Local business owners also requested that Council explore potential creative placemaking and lighting opportunities to help unify the centre.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and suggestions for the Martha Street precinct.
