Mt Gravatt Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan project
Project update 14 November 2025
Mt Gravatt is a vibrant and culturally diverse Brisbane suburb with destinations like the Logan Road shops, Mt Gravatt Showgrounds and Mt Gravatt Outlook Reserve. Brisbane City Council is working with the community to enhance Mt Gravatt Centre with more opportunities to live, work and play.
Now open for consultation, the draft Mt Gravatt Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan outlines an exciting long-term vision for the suburb with a view to revitalising the popular Logan Road corridor.
The draft plan aims to:
- increase housing choice by updating zoning and building heights to support diverse living options
- support local business and create more opportunities to live, work and play
- enhance public spaces with improved shade, greenery and walkability
- maximise transport connections to public transport networks
- improve walkability with new arcades, alleys and local road connections
- ensure development enhances the area's subtropical character
- revitalise underutilised land and improve the village atmosphere.
The draft precinct plan is based on technical investigations and initial community feedback from mid-2025. It includes proposed changes to Brisbane City Plan 2014 (City Plan), including the Mt Gravatt corridor and Holland Park—Tarragindi district neighbourhood plans, as well as changes to the strategic framework, zones, overlays and supporting planning scheme policies.
