Mt Gravatt Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan project

Brisbane City Council is working with the community to create a Mt Gravatt Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan to guide future building, development and employment growth.

The precinct plan will have 4 main themes:

  1. Housing choice:  We need more homes for every type of household (single people, couples, multigenerational families, couples or single people with children). We’ll enable this by reviewing building heights and zoning to allow for more homes. 
  2. Vibrant village:  We want to create more to see and do by updating City Plan requirements to support the revitalisation of public spaces, facilities and services in addition to boosting local retail, dining and business opportunities. 
  3. Subtropical lifestyle:  We can celebrate our outdoor lifestyle by ensuring building design and public spaces include shade and greenery and are suitable for our subtropical climate. 
  4. Connecting people and places:  We can maximise our public and active transport networks and make it easier to walk and ride recreationally or commute between work and home. 

Community Engagement

We asked the community to tell us what they would like to see in this neighbourhood by:

  • completing an online survey
  • adding location-specific comments on a map

Community input at this early stage of the project will be considered along with technical inputs and Council's requirements to help inform the preparation of a draft precinct plan.
