Getting started

    What is this study about?

This study gives you early access to new Brisbane app features. The purpose is to check how well these features work in real‑life situations before the public release.

Your feedback will help us find any issues, improve usability and refine the overall experience before releasing to the public.

Why am I being asked to take part?

Up to 40 Council staff are participating so we can test the app on different devices and in a range of day‑to‑day situations.

We’re looking for honest experiences that reflect real use, not perfect results.

When does the study start and finish?

The study will be open for feedback from Monday 9 March. Access to feedback surveys will close on the morning of Monday 23 March, 2026.

What will I need to do?

You’ll receive suggested tasks twice a week. Each task usually takes around 5–10 minutes, plus a few minutes to complete the feedback form.

You can do tasks on any day, at any time that suits you.

Tasks and feedback

    What if I can’t complete a task?

Let us know. If you run into issues, tsill fill out the feedback form. This includes situations where the app crashes, doesn’t load correctly, doesn’t recognise something, or doesn’t provide the information you expected.

These experiences are extremely important for the study.

Can I complete tasks other than the suggested ones?

Yes. You’re welcome to attempt other tasks or look up information relevant to the Brisbane area using the app features.

Any task you attempt should have its own feedback form.

    How do I submit feedback?

Each task email includes a link to the study’s feedback form. This is the same link for the entire study.

    <insert feedback link>

    Can I upload screenshots?

Yes. Uploading screenshots is helpful, especially if something unexpected happened.

    Taking screenshots

    Google/Android phones:

To take a screenshot on most Android devices, simultaneously press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons for a second. The screen will flash, and you can edit or share the captured image from the notification or your gallery.

    Apple devices:

To take a screenshot on an Apple iPhone, simultaneously press and quickly release the Side button (power) and Volume Up button for Face ID models. For models with a Home button, press the Side/Top button and the Home button together. Screenshots are saved in the Photos app.

Do I fill out one form for the whole study?

No. We ask that you complete a separate feedback form for every task you attempt, even if:

    • you couldn’t finish the task
    • something didn’t work
    • you got stuck
    • you weren’t sure what to do
    • the app behaved unexpectedly

Every task = one feedback form
