Brisbane City Council is updating the Sandgate District Neighbourhood Plan focusing on Sandgate, Deagon and Shorncliffe.

Council is committed to growing our city while maintaining the character of our suburbs and planning for the future.

This project is just one way Council is ensuring Brisbane is a city of neighbourhoods, where residents are close to the services they need and the lifestyle and leisure opportunities they want.

Council is working with residents to identify key issues in the area. In particular, Council is looking to:

  • enhance the Sandgate district centre as the primary community and economic hub
  • provide housing choices suitable for residents at all stages of life, so they can stay in their local community
  • enhance lifestyle and leisure opportunities with a focus on the Moreton Bay foreshore
  • protect the local environment to keep the area clean, green and sustainable
  • identify and protect neighbourhood character and character housing valued by the community.

So far, the community has shared ideas and comments about what the area should look like in the future through Community Planning Team meetings, an online survey and email submissions. Combining these ideas with technical input, Council has developed a draft strategy that is now available for community feedback.

You can have your say by completing the online feedback form before Monday 4 November 2019.
