Windsor Sports and Community Park

Brisbane City Council is talking to the community about the Windsor Sports and Community draft Concept Plan.

Located between Northey and Cullen Streets in Windsor, the new Windsor Sports and Community Park is part of the Enoggera Creek Sport and Recreation Precinct Plan.

In late 2018 community engagement with residents, local community groups and key stakeholders provided an opportunity to help shape plans for this new park.

The key themes from early community consultation on the new Windsor Sport and Community Park included:

  • additional car parking
  • informal break out space away from formal sports
  • park seating to relax
  • informal play spaces for all ages and abilities
  • directional signage to improve legibility through the area.

Council has responded to this feedback on the new Windsor Sports and Community Park by proposing:

  • car parking
  • informal sports lawn for play and picnicking
  • park seating
  • play node
  • existing fig tree to be protected and retained
  • precinct wayfinding marker.

The new Windsor Sports and Community Park project aims to deliver a space that:

  • increases accessible green space in the area
  • promotes a sense of community
  • encourages informal recreational activity in our wonderful subtropical environment.

The community feedback period for the new Windsor Sports and Community Park draft concept plan is now closed. Feedback provided will inform the final plan to be released in August 2019. Construction for the new park is anticipated to commence in 2020.
