This project focuses on the Wittonga Park playground and picnic area, adjacent to Alutha Road, including the playground, picnic shelters, BBQs, and access paths. Other areas of Wittonga Park are not included within the scope of this project.

A draft concept plan is a big picture, ideas plan developed to support community engagement and help the community provide feedback on proposed works or new features. The purpose of a draft concept plan is to provide a visual aid to give the community a better picture of what may be possible.

The design provides a mix of play experiences for younger and older children, along with inclusive elements such as accessible play equipment and pathways. It aims to support a range of physical, social and imaginative play for children of different abilities.

The park includes established trees, areas affected by flooding, and existing infrastructure that limit where new features can be located. These constraints require careful design to ensure safety, durability and environmental protection.

The concept includes upgraded pathways to improve connectivity between key areas of the park including the Hilder Road car park. Accessible play elements and improved circulation aim to make the park easier to use for people of different ages and abilities.
