Consultation on the Brighton Foreshore Parklands draft concept plan has now closed. Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback.

Brisbane City Council is continuing to work with the community to develop a concept plan for the Brighton Foreshore Parklands.

The parkland area that Council considered for potential improvements included the land between the high tide water mark, generally designated by the seawall, and the Flinders Parade roadway.

The four-page draft concept plan highlighted proposed future upgrades and features.

The proposals and ideas presented aimed to:

  • improve its recreational potential for residents and visitors
  • provide opportunities for people to continue to enjoy this beautiful scenic location whilst retaining its relaxed laid-back character.
  • protect the heritage value of the foreshore
  • improve resilience
  • meet the diverse needs of the community

The draft concept plan was shaped from input and ideas received from the community in early 2023 and to meet the key objectives of Community, Environment and Resilience within the constraints of the site.

Council will consider community feedback along with further technical investigations and Council requirements to prepare the concept plan.
