Brisbane City Council is undertaking a study of active travel between Captain Burke Park Kangaroo Point and Mowbray Park in East Brisbane to understand how, why and when you travel in this area.
We have now closed consultation for this project. The purpose of the consultation was to help us understand your experiences and potential opportunities for improving active travel in this area.
This review is part of our commitment to expand our city’s active travel network to deliver safe, convenient and connected paths and help to improve active transport options for Brisbane residents, visitors and commuters.
This planning study is an initiative of the Queensland Government.

Active travel refers to any mode of travel that relies on human powered mobility.
Active travel is anything that involves:
Riding a bike
Using an E-mobility device (e-scooter, e-bike, e-skateboard)
Walking, running or using any other form of mobility device

Kangaroo Point Active Travel Study has finished this stage
Community consultation was open from 24 October to 21 November 2022. Consultation involved an online survey and interactive map to understand community needs, experiences, issues and opportunities associated with active travel in the area and to help inform our decision making on the next steps.
Early 2023
Kangaroo Point Active Travel Study is currently at this stage
All feedback will be considered along with technical input as part of future potential improvement options.
