Rotary is an international service organisation where people unite and take action to create lasting change - across the globe, in their communities and in themselves. In furtherance of these goals a community project in 1947 of the Rotary South Brisbane and their secretary Eric Tristram of the Tristram's Soft Drinks Co was the establishment of Woolloongabba Rotary Park along with its first playground equipment with continuing support of the Rotary Club of Woolloongabba.
