Montague Road transport study
Consultation has concluded
Brisbane City Council is planning for the future by developing a transport study for the Montague Road corridor in West End and South Brisbane.
The study is a joint initiative of Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government.
Council is undertaking community consultation as part of the study. The first phase of community consultation closed Sunday 10 December 2023.
Thank you for taking part in planning our city by having your say about your experiences, travel patterns and challenges for all transport modes that travel along the Montague Road corridor. Your input and ideas will be considered alongside our technical investigations as we develop the study.
Next steps
We are planning a second phase of community engagement in mid-2024, where we will share a summary of feedback received from the community and release draft outputs from the transport study for feedback.
Once finalised, the study will inform potential future transport design options for the Montague Road corridor.

The purpose of this mapping activity is to understand your travel experiences within the study area.
You can provide your input anywhere in the green study area by dropping the relevant pin on the map and making a comment on one or both the prompt questions:
- What do you currently like about travelling in the study area?
- What takes away from your enjoyment of travelling in the study area?
Feel free to drop more than one pin if you have multiple comments.
To drop a pin and provide a comment on the map:
- select the 'add a pin' icon on the left panel
- choose the relevant pin and drag to a location on the map within the highlighted area
- add your comment to the prompt question above, then submit (it’s a good idea to check your response before submitting in case your browser has auto-filled any fields)
- if you want to change your comment or move your pin, select your pin on the map, then select 'Edit'.
