Sarah Collierover 2 years agoA toddlers/young children's waterplay park would be welcomed by locals and the wider Brisbane community.
A great example of this is The Mill at Morton Bay waterpark. https://www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/Services/Sport-Recreation/Parks/The-Mill-Play-Space

There are some lovely spots when you walk through New Farm park. My favourite parts are when I walk through the leafy trees and for a moment escape into a shady rainforest dream. The rose garden beds are lovely but are they environmentally sustainable? Are the thorned roses what the new generation need in this overpopulated space?
0 comment2ToniSmithover 2 years agoPlease plant more trees across New Farm Park, but particularly in the middle of the park. Could we triple the number of trees in the park?
0 comment12Peter24over 2 years agoMaintain the traditional garden design - limit car spaces, & concrete paths. Encourage informal relaxation & experiencing the garden & river
The park is rapidly becoming over utilised on weekends to the detriment of its environment and the intent of its original design. There are too many - car spaces, concrete pathways, bbq facilities, private and public events. It has changed from a place where you go to experience nature, to an entertainment precinct. Please - no fairy lights. They chase the wild life away.
1 comment7jackscotover 2 years agoThe ring road would have been a different scene a hundred years ago. Much less traffic and much slower. Time to re-think the ring road
Could be a place for small children to ride their bike, for others to skateboard or roller skate. No parking in the park, please.

Brisbane City Council’s heritage listing process aims to identify and protect places of cultural heritage significance in Brisbane. A local heritage place is protected by Council’s legislative framework to control demolition, removal and development in accordance with the City Plan provisions.
