Consultation has concluded
Brisbane City Council invited residents to help select an additional floral emblem for Brisbane, to represent our vibrant and dynamic city.
In March-April 2023, Council asked the community to suggest flowers that are native to Brisbane along with ideas (or thoughts) about important features to consider in preparing a shortlist for the additional floral emblem.
Community interest was high with more than 700 submissions. You can learn more about stage one engagement.

Council is pleased to announce the following shortlisted flowers for the additional floral emblem for Brisbane.
Brisbane Wattle Flower (Acacia fimbriata)
Brisbane Lily Flower (Proiphys cunninghamii)
Firewheel Tree Flower (Stenocarpus sinuatus)
Dwarf Silky Oak Flower (Grevillea banksii)
