7th Brigade Park upgrade project - draft concept plans
Brisbane City Council is planning future improvements for 7th Brigade Park to help it continue meeting the needs of the growing community. As Chermside and nearby areas grow, well-designed sport, recreation and open space areas will become increasingly important. This park upgrade project focuses on creating an informal multi use sports area and an off-road cycling skills track.
In November 2025 we invited the community to provide their thoughts and ideas on an early Opportunities map to help inform preparation of draft concept plans for the upgrade project.
We heard there was support to explore the possibility for flexible informal sports spaces that can be used in different ways and interest in an off-road cycling skills track.
An area near the Murphy Road car park has been identified as suitable for an off road cycling skills track that can accommodate riders of different skill levels.
We are also proposing an informal multi use sport area near the open parkland at Delaware Street and Newman Road for informal activities such as basketball, netball and racket sports. Existing trees will be retained and protected.
