Brisbane City Council is creating more to see and do in our suburbs by undertaking the Carindale Recreation Reserve Park - upgrade project in Carindale, and we can now share the final concept plan.
This upgrade project will provide improved opportunities for recreation, to relax and play, and meet with family and friends in one of the many places that makes our city great. Council is committed to protecting and improving our city’s green spaces while also promoting active, healthy lifestyles for residents.
We identified potential opportunities for improvements to the recreation and play facilities, along with access to the park through a new access road outlining these in the draft concept plan.
In November 2025, we asked the community for feedback on the draft concept plan through an online feedback survey and two in-person information kiosks. We also considered feedback about the park collected by the Chandler Ward Office in 2024.
The community told us the proposal would improve their park experience, and that the new entry road could address safety concerns and poor sightlines experienced at the current location.
The community's feedback was considered alongside technical investigations and Council requirements to help shape the final concept plan for the park upgrade.
Feedback for the Carindale Recreation Reserve upgrade project closed 11:59pm, Sunday 7 December 2025.

The upgrade is being delivered progressively so the park can remain open and usable as much as possible.
The initial work focuses on preparing the park for the future by improving safety, access and movement. These early works include relocating the internal access road and creating clearer, safer connections for people walking, riding and driving within the park.
These improvements will make it easier and safer to get into and around the park and help set the foundation for potential future park upgrades.
Construction information, timing and impacts can be found on Council's project page.
Looking ahead
Further park improvements shown in the final concept plan are planned to be delivered when funding becomes available. These may include enhancements to play, recreation and picnic area, fitness and riding facilities, pathways and additional landscaping, as shown in the final concept plan.
We're committed to keeping the community informed and will provide updates about future works as the project progress.
